Sri Rudram & Chamakam

Study the most pristine portions of the Vedas in praise of Lord Shiva.

Sri Rudram is the most pristine portion of all four Vedas in praise of Lord Shiva and contains the panchakshari mahamantra “Om Namah Shivaya.” Chamakam is a boon-seeking Vedic chant recited after Sri Rudram. All great yagnas like MahaRudram and AtiRudram require excellent knowledge of these two chants.

The Vayu Purana states that anyone who recites daily Sri Rudram, Chamakam, and Purusha Suktam will be blessed with Brahmaloka. The recitation of Sri Rudram blesses the chanter with the greatest of material, health, and spiritual benefits.
