Meet your priest

Devotion, scholarship, and a steady pair of hands.

Kanth Velamuri was personally chosen by Amma Sri Karunamayi to serve as the SRIM Center priest. He performs all homas, poojas, and abhishekams in accordance with traditional Vedic science — with the warmth and precision devotees have come to trust.

In 2018 he spent a full month assisting with the Karthika Masam programs at Amma's Manidweepa ashram — an experience that shaped the devotion he brings to every ceremony.

He studied the Krishna Yajur Vedam from 2004 to 2015 at the Srimad Bhagavad Bharati Trust in Andhra Pradesh, India, along with the Apastambiya Smartha Prayogam. That foundation makes him well-trained to perform temple rituals, pujas, homas, home pujas, abhishekams, vrathams, and annual Varshikotsavam programs alike.

At SRIM, Kanth Garu lovingly cares for the Shirdi Sai Baba and Sri Durga Devi mandirs — leading daily aratis, programs, and festivals. He conducted the Center's first Ganesha Navaratri in 2019, now a cherished annual offering.

Dakshina is offered at the same time, directly to Kanth Garu, as a traditional gesture of gratitude for his services.
